How to send a payment link to a customer

Payment links let customers pay you by card without being present. They work on any device, phone, tablet, or computer.

Payment links are ideal when:

  • Your customer wants to pay later
  • You're booking in advance and want to collect a deposit
  • Your customer isn't with you in person
  • A customer wants to pay from their computer

  2. 2Enter the amount
  3. 3Add a description (e.g. "Driving lesson, May 31" or "House cleaning, June 2")
  4. 4Optionally attach it to a customer record
  5. 5Tap Create link

Once created, you can share the payment link in several ways:

  • iMessage or WhatsApp: tap Share and select your messaging app
  • Email: tap Send by email and enter the customer's address
  • Copy link: copy it to your clipboard and paste it anywhere

The customer taps or clicks the link and pays securely by card. They receive an automatic receipt.

Tracking payment status

Payment links appear in the Pending section of your Income tab. Once the customer pays, the status updates to Paid automatically and you receive a notification.

If the link hasn't been paid after a few days, you can send a reminder from the link detail screen.

Payment links expire after 30 days by default. If a customer tries to pay an expired link, they'll see a message to contact you. You can create a new link at any time.

Fees

Standard card processing fees apply to payments made through payment links. The fees are the same as in-person Tap to Pay payments.
