## How to delete your Morgan AI account

We're sorry to see you go. If you'd like to delete your account, here's how, and what to know before you do.

## Before you delete

**Export your data first.** Once your account is deleted, your data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Before deleting, export:
- Your income records (go to **Income > Export**)
- Your invoice history (go to **Invoices > Export**)
- Your expense records (go to **Expenses > Export**)
- Your tax summary if relevant (go to **Reports > Tax Summary > Export PDF**)

**Cancel your Pro subscription first** (if you have one). Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription billing. See [How to cancel your subscription](/help/cancel-subscription).

## Steps to delete your account

1. Open Morgan AI and go to **Settings**
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap **Account**
3. Tap **Delete account**
4. Read the warning and confirm you've exported your data
5. Enter your password to confirm
6. Tap **Delete permanently**

Your account deletion is processed immediately. You'll receive a confirmation email.

## What happens after deletion

- Your account and profile are removed from our systems within 30 days
- Your financial records (invoices, income, expenses) are deleted
- Your customer data (names, emails) is deleted
- Transaction records required for financial compliance may be retained for up to 7 years as required by law
- Any outstanding payouts from Stripe will still be sent to your bank account

## I've changed my mind

Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. If you've reconsidered, you're welcome to create a new account, but your previous data cannot be restored.
